Privacy policy

What this website collects

The pages on this site don't use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies of their own. The web host records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running. Those logs are not used to identify you.

Fonts load from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google, which may log your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

Booking a conversation

Booking runs on Google Calendar appointment scheduling. When you book, you give your name, email address, and anything you choose to write in the notes. Google stores that information under its own privacy policy, and it appears in my calendar and email. I use it to hold the meeting, send you the video link, and follow up about coaching. I don't add you to a mailing list or share your details with anyone else.

If we work together

Coaching clients receive a separate coaching agreement that covers confidentiality, what is recorded, how long it is kept, and what a sponsoring company can and cannot see. Coaching records are kept separately from any other professional records I hold, in tools used only for this practice.

Email

Email to rory@rorynicol.com runs on Google Workspace. I keep correspondence for as long as it is useful to our work together and delete it after that. Email isn't a secure channel, so please don't send anything you wouldn't want a third party to read.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to rory@rorynicol.com. I will respond within 30 days. I handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). If you are in the United States, the same commitments apply.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date.
